Ultracargo is continually seeking the best solutions to meet client needs and increase its footprint in the Brazilian market. Currently, the company operates in key ports and strategic inland regions. With transshipment and storage terminals in Paulínia (SP), Rondonópolis (MT), and Palmeirante (TO) and port terminals in Santos (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Aratu (BA), Suape (PE), Itaqui (MA), and Vila do Conde (PA), Ultracargo has created a unique ecosystem that enables more efficient and competitive logistics solutions.
Ultracargo is also working on an ambitious growth plan focused on expanding terminals into new regions and strengthening logistical corridors. Inland expansion and the integration of more efficient transportation modes are central pillars of this strategy, allowing Ultracargo to offer more competitive, efficient, and sustainable solutions to key production and consumer markets in Brazil.
One highlight is the new terminal in Palmeirante (TO), set to begin operations in early 2025. With a capacity of 23,000 cubic meters, this terminal will be linked to the company’s Itaqui (MA) facility via rail, serving as a strategic hub in the North-Northeast corridor, facilitating fuel and biofuel logistics for Maranhão, Tocantins, and Pará.
This terminal adds to other initiatives in the company’s expansion plan, strengthening the so-called Northern Arc, a network of strategic ports serving the region. The Itaqui (MA) terminal, for example, will add 83,000 m³ of storage capacity by 2026. Together, the company’s facilities in these areas and the new interconnections will significantly reduce supply shortages in Northern and Northeastern Brazil.
In another region, the Southeast-Midwest corridor, crucial for agribusiness, is also receiving attention, with expansions in storage capacity in Santos by 25,000 m³ and Rondonópolis (MT) by 22,000 m³. These expansions are expected to be completed next year.
The company is also constructing two rail spurs to optimize product flows to the Midwest. The new rail links in Baixada Santista and Paulínia—where Ultracargo holds a 50% stake in the Opla terminal—will interconnect the rail networks in these regions, enhancing the corridor between SP and MT. This will increase the speed of corn ethanol transport, reduce costs and carbon emissions, and ensure smoother transport of petroleum derivatives, with reverse flows where trains return with products.
Furthermore, from its terminal in Vila do Conde (PA), the company enables waterway operations, providing more capacity and efficiency to meet the needs of the Northern Arc.
These initiatives will develop a broad range of fast, secure, and efficient logistics solutions with an integrated infrastructure across various transportation modes. Storage expansion and service optimization will bring more flexibility, cost reduction, and a more sustainable operation. The connectivity between key regions will also ensure a quick response to market demands, giving Ultracargo and its clients a competitive edge.
