Ultracargo participated in an event organized by the Women Advisory Group, on April 2nd, with the support of PwC Brasil, debating national infrastructure and logistics. The initiative discussed topics such as the influence on the sector in view of the present country’s economic situation, and the trends that are likely to gain relevance in the coming years.

Décio Amaral, Ultracargo´s CEO, was one of the guest panelists at the meeting who highlighted strategic issues for the future of mobility in Brazil, such as logistical efficiency, innovation for the national infrastructure and the importance of women in this truly relevant sector.

“Logistics is built on connections, and forums like this one, which promote dialog between sector experts and executives, are paramount to promote the strengthening of the logistics chain, driving innovation and collaborative solutions that benefit the country,” he stated.

During his participation at the event, Décio underscored Ultracargo´s commitment to sustainable projects, which prioritize the reduction of carbon emissions and the use of renewable energy sources. “Modern technologies, such as AI and automation, play an essential role to advance the sector. Moreover, partnerships between public and private sectors are essential for the modernization of the logistics infrastructure. These collaborations bring together capital, innovation, and expertise from the private sector with public regulations and policies that ensure legal security and viability for new projects,” he stated.

Future Plans
Pursuant to its commitment to offer more efficient planning of sustainable operational solutions aligned with customer requirements, Ultracargo continues to progress in the implementation of railway sidings that connect the company’s terminals to existent railway networks. The connections under construction at the Rondonópolis (MT) and Paulínia (SP) terminals exemplify these solutions, which will boost the Southeast/Midwest corridor, essential for the efficient transportation of agribusiness inputs and products.

“By replacing trucks by trains on relevant routes such as the São Paulo-Mato Grosso corridor, we foresee an up to 35% reduction of emissions, representing yearly 51,000 tons less CO2 released into the atmosphere. We also replaced traditional fuels used in our light car fleet with ethanol and use 100% renewable energy with I-REC certificates, neutralizing scope 2 emissions”, explains Décio Amaral.

In 2025, the company will also begin operations in the city of Palmeirante, in the state of Tocantins (TO), with a rail connection connecting it with to terminal of Itaqui (MA), optimizing the logistical flow in the North-Northeast corridor and facilitating fuel and biofuel logistics to the interior of the states of Maranhão, Tocantins and Pará.

“These moves consolidate our unique, integrated and valuable logistics ecosystem for our clients, structured with great security, cutting-edge technologies, respect for the surrounding communities and the environment, and a view to the country’s sustainable growth,” concludes the CEO.
