Supported initiatives
and projects

  • The program aims to promote a wide-ranging effort to combat the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents on Brazilian roads, by raising awareness among truck drivers, so they can act as agents protecting the rights of children and adolescents. The project is an initiative of Childhood Brasil.
  • The award recognizes and values projects developed in Baixada Santista (SP), where Ultracargo operates a liquid bulk storage and handling terminal. Categories awarded include Solidarity, Well-being, Cultural Action, and Entertainment. The initiative has been carried out for over 10 years in partnership with the newspaper A Tribuna, from Santos (SP).
  • A course offered to the community surrounding the new Vila do Conde terminal (PA) provided basic training in port terminal operations. In partnership with FAENE/Polis - Business College, graduates received a certificate, which should increase employability opportunities at Ultracargo's own terminal or in other companies operating in the Port.
  • For over 10 years, the project has been recording life stories of people benefiting from the operation of the Port of Santos (SP) – where Ultracargo operates a terminal – and turning them into a heritage of humanity in a virtual museum. A way to highlight the connections between citizens, the territory, and the Port, as well as to promote the production, dissemination, and preservation of memory.
  • Testing our new tanks for leaks or structural issues can require millions of liters of water. To make this process more sustainable, we reuse the same water multiple times for several tanks. This way, we preserve this valuable natural resource.
  • The Santos terminal has a rainwater harvesting system, which reduces consumption by 15% to 25% in new developments. The technology is planned for both the ongoing expansion in Itaqui (MA) and the future terminal in Vila do Conde (PA). For the good of our business, for the good of everyone.
  • Our terminals in Itaqui (MA), Santos (SP), Suape (PE) and Aratu (BA) are supplied with renewable energy from small hydroelectric plants and wind, solar and biomass plants. This solution maintains our operations and, especially, aims to mitigate climate change.
  • At the request of our clients, in 2020, we responded to the EcoVadis questionnaire, which evaluates companies' performance on social and environmental topics. We achieved certification in the bronze category.
